What this is for
Automatic transmission fluid is a hydraulic fluid, a friction modifier and a coolant at the same time, which is why manufacturers specify it so tightly. Manual gearboxes want something closer to a light gear oil. Hydrostatic drives on mowers and compact tractors have their own requirement again.
Check this before you order
Transmission fluid is the single easiest fluid to get wrong. Confirm the exact specification your transmission calls for — a universal fluid is only correct if it lists your spec.
